Cultural development agency Generator are once again on the lookout for top musical talent to play Evolution Emerging, the multi-venue festival which takes over the Ouseburn Valley at the end of May. Over 40 bands will be selected to play alongside headliners and hotly tipped acts unearthed via their Tipping Point blog.

To be considered for the event, bands and solo artists are invited to apply online at www.evolutionemerging.com/apply – the application process opens today (Monday 18th January) and closes on Friday 29th January. The selection process will see industry insiders and the region’s tastemakers listening to every track submitted, and voting for their favourites.

Previous acts to have played the event include Nadine Shah, Hyde & Beast, Lanterns On The Lake, Beth Jeans Houghton, Eliza & The Bear, Lisbon, The Lake Poets, Lulu James and Shields.
