For many of us, At The Drive-In were a critical part of our musical development, a band that offered so much that was completely different, they’re also a band that never really lost their charm even as musical tastes changed. Sadly, there’s no real chance to see them live now, though a cover band is set to rock The Cluny on Friday 19th August, as Anth The Drive-In don the appropriate wigs, and bring an absolute cavalcade of good times, all in aid of the Tyneside branch of Mind, the mental health charity.

After a triumphant set at last years Grafteoke charity event at The Cluny, Anth The Drive-In are gonna do it all over again, featuring members of local acts Integers, Jimmy Floyd Hasselband, Drifts, Written From Negative and Razmataz Lorry Excitement. They’re joined by  The Micksies, playing the very best of The Pixies, who feature members of Young Liar, Tough Tits & The Great Curve. The bill is completed by Daveage, who’ll be playing a whole load of Descendents songs, thanks to members of Pure Graft and Farman.

While we wouldn’t normally feature cover bands as part of our output, it’s hard not to squeeze this one in given that it’s for such a good cause, features members of some of our favourite bands, and most importantly, will be a whole lot of raucous good fun. So snap your ticket up, and get yourself ready for a delightfully chaotic good time.
