In the mid-noughties, Amusement Parks On Fire emerged from Nottingham to become one of the major players in the nascent shoegaze revival. Led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Feerick, over the course of three albums and a handful of EPs, Amusement Parks On Fire attracted a devoted cult audience for their grandiose and epic sound, as well as their praised live show.

In the wake of third album Road Eyes in 2009 though, the band seemed to fall away from active duty, a brief European tour in 2013 marking the band’s only sighting amidst persistent rumours of new recordings. Now though, the band are making a very welcome return, with a UK tour hitting The Cluny in Newcastle on Sunday 19th November.

Accompanying the tour is a re-release of Road Eyes that incorporates nine unreleased tracks from the original album sessions: even more exciting for fans starved for new material is the arrival of long-awaited new single Our Goal To Realise. With new EP An Archaea also scheduled for release early next year, it’s clear Feerick is not just contemplating the past but also looking forward to an exciting creative future with his revived band.
