Reliably informed

Manchester’s history for producing top notch indie bands shows no sign of letting up, and Alias Kid are the latest to step-up to the plate. Having just toured with Happy Mondays, their credentials are ever growing, but a tour of their own is one which was called for, and sees them play Cluny, Newcastle on Friday 8th April.

Their sound is very much rooted in their ’90s Britpop influences and the jangly guitar pop of the ’60s is another influence worn firmly on their sleeves. With a very uplifting tone to their songwriting, it’s refreshing to hear a band who seem to just want to write songs that utterly grab you and make you want to move. With this their first headline tour, it’s a run of shows that could cement Alias Kid as a band that’s really ready to take the next step forward.
