If you like good beer and even better entertainment (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?) then you’ll be pleased to hear about the return of Ale & Arty at Stockton’s ARC at the end of the month. Taking place between Thursday 23rd and Saturday 25th February, the three-day festival will celebrate the best in quality drinks, with something to tickle everyone’s taste buds on offer – from fresh and fruity little numbers to something tall, dark and handsome. Of course, to help it go down even more smoothly, there’s also a range of performances happening across the event: on Thursday, tribute rockers Limehouse Lizzy will be keeping Celtic rock alive and well – including a tribute to ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore as a new addition to their already storming gigs. Jason Cook will be the MC for Friday’s double-headlining show, joining top comedians Adam Rowe and Phil Nichol for a special edition of Catch 22. Finally, it wouldn’t be Ale & Arty without an appearance from Mike McGrother, so he and the Wildcats of Kilkenny will be closing the festival with a completely unapologetic night of Pogues covers on Saturday. Honestly, can you think of a better way to round off a beer festival than a tribute to Shane MacGowan?
