Having continued to build on their reputation as purveyors of epic soundscapes, and with a handful of well received singles under their belt, post-rock septet Abel Raise The Cain have announced the release of their brand new mini-album, For Strangers Only, on Friday 31st March. The release has been percolating for quite some time, as the band concentrated on honing their live performances to match their huge sound, and fans will be pleased to note the wait has been more than worth it.
Opening with theatrical strings and culminating in a riot of instrumentation and soaring vocals it’s a seamless release, with the tracks segueing into each other for maximum dramatic effect. Wide-screen soundscapes merge harmoniously with glittering synths, pulsing sirens and massive choruses. Staying true to the band’s epic sound, recent single Every Rise offers up swirling guitars alongside a supercharged chorus and dramatic percussive flourishes, providing the catchy and upbeat sound we’ve come to enjoy from them.
One can only imagine how grandiose these tracks will sound in a live setting, allowing the band to further push the boundaries of their sound. Witness them in all their live glory at Stockton Calling on Saturday 15th April, where they play the ARC stage.
