It’s the final week for Alphabetti’s current home, and before their big sendoff at the weekend, Lauren Stone and Liberty Hodes are making sure there are laughs-a-plenty before the final hurrah, as the third Comedy Night That Passes The Bechdel Test takes place on Thursday 9th March.

With a focus on female talent, the first two nights were a storming success, with heavy sprinklings of alternative comedy, a DIY try anything attitude and an utter exuberance that makes for a blisteringly fun night, this show filled with warmth and daftness is one that must continue even if that means finding a (hopefully temporary) new home. With poet and activist (and remarkably similar looking to poet Matt Miller and his comedy creation Rob Hobson) Suzanne Tweddle, the wonderfully talented Katherine Tanney and performance artist Tracey Tofield, and a couple of surprises too, this night is fast becoming a charming cult favourite for North East comedy fans.

A Comedy Night That Passes The Bechdel Test is at Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle on Thursday 9th March.
