What better way to celebrate the launch of your debut single than with a show at one of Newcastle’s most beautifully unique venues? Well, you could also pack the line-up with some of the finest female-fronted acts the North East has to offer; and that’s exactly what Twist Helix have done. They launch new single Decade with a free show at Mining Institute on Saturday 23rd January.

The new release sees the band picking up where their demos and live shows throughout 2015 left off. Punchy yet incredibly catchy female vocals twist in and out of the synth driven electronic melody, and it’s all entwined with delicate guitar over pulsating drums. It’s dark, alternative and just the right side of pop. The band, still in their first year in existence, show extreme promise with a sound that is defined and rounded, and it all suggests they could kick on even further over the next twelve months.

The night will also feature fellow purveyors of synth pop with a dark edge Fractions; the twinkly electronic pop of Human X; and folk influenced songstress Kate Edwards. It’s a line up with an electronic vibe running through it; though with a delightful swing of influences between all who share the stage, Twist Helix couldn’t be giving a better launching pad to a song that has the ability to get everyone dancing.
