LA duo Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad – aka Girlpool – are coming to Sunderland’s Pop Recs on 16th November to perform some of their stripped-down, raw punk magic. Their recent singles Blah Blah Blah and Jane have been causing a critical buzz in the underground scene thanks to their totally unapologetic attitude towards being shrill and causing an ear-bleeding noise. It’s like if Harmony Korine decided to sit down and write some scuzzy, indie Americana. Their tiny set – part of their first tour of England – is set to be yet another ‘remember that’ moment at Pop Recs, who are making a habit of bringing some of the best under-the-radar bands to Sunderland.

Girlpool are joined by ICENI, Newcastle-based purveyors of disco-infused power-pop. Their self-titled EP came out last year and provided a small treasure trove of catchy, anti-mainstream tunes.

Girlpool and ICENI play at Pop Recs, Sunderland on Sunday 16th November.
