Formed in 2005 under the stewardship of Mudfoot Blaps and Notorious D.A.V.E. with an aim to support and nurture urban creativity and artists, the Ghetto Method Collective has for 10 years now been contributing DJs, artists, producers, dancers, sound systems and general all-round support to a whole host of cultural happenings. To celebrate their anniversary, they’ve put together a selection of videos highlighting some of the events and key members that have played a part in the crew’s ever-growing story.

GMC – 07
Early days, rough and ready collected highlights of GMCs 2007 activities including gigs with Peanut Butter Wolf & Steve Masons Black Affair, the epic GMC Art Jam at Star and Shadow and the Kill Your Heroes show with Opus Underground.

Rick Fury – Hustlin’
Going international in 2013 and filmed in Germany as part of the GMC Berlin launch event at Panke in 2013, Rick Furry on the rhymes and DJ ADS on the beats.

Mudfoot Blaps – Ravers Delight
AV Rave megamix as part of the GMC’s work with the Fantazia crew celebrating the diverse dance floor passions of Mudfoot Blaps.

Verso – Half Notes Floating
Bert Verso with the killer cuts both audio wise and with the edits in this lush video, also worth hunting out is the Grey Tapes live version

Billy Saga – Abelha Africana
Inspirational video from rapper and activist Billy Saga, shot in Sao Paulo and featuring GMC artwork from Mudfoot who was over supporting community arts programmes in Brazil. This also launched the BR2UK project.

Mr Bird feat. Greg Blackman
Original GMC member, now residing in Lisbon and gaining many plaudits with his BBE releases and remixes.

The Guardian – Three Little Pigs
Cannes award winning advert that the GMC worked on, Sune and Mudfoot creating characterization and artwork for the Big Bad Wolf.

Vigo – Late Shows
Filmed during a Late Shows event at the Cumberland Arms, with the added bonus of live electronica luminaries, Ocelot on the audio.

Raj Pannu – Old Grey Whistle Test
Not a GMC commission, but as another regular contributor and for those unaware of the scope of this North East legends skills, this 15 minute AV opus is nothing short of genius.

DJ ADS Spring 2014
DJ ADS again, with another roundup of more GMC goodness including B-Boying with the Bad Taste Crew, Sketchbook Sessions and various parties, jams and other skullduggery.

Ghetto Method celebrate with a series of Birthday Weekender gigs from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th December, appearing at Grey’s Club on Friday 11th, and a special secret party on Saturday 12th December. Stay tuned to the Facebook event for more info.
