Reliably informed

Newcastle’s much-loved DIY/indie venue, Little Buildings haven’t had an easy run of things this past year or so and having just got settled down into their sparkling new Stepney Bank premises COVID-19 decided to be a dickhead and get it, alongside every other live music venue (in case you haven’t seen the news), temporarily closed down. To help subsidise the running of the venue during these difficult times Little Buildings is asking for support. However, being one of the region’s most ingenious little venues they have opted for something a little different to your usual crowdfunding campaign.

Via their Bandcamp site and with artist’s permission, they have set up a bootleg archive, with recordings from some of your favourite acts, from Newcastle and beyond, over the past few years. The magic in every performance has been captured and along with your favourite songs you can enjoy the jovial crowd banter, broken string mishap, drunken speech and terrible dad joke. The first twelve for sale include sets from Blom, East Fast, Ghost Signals, Headclouds and many more, with even more to follow in the near future (they’ve been bragging about their massive archive online).

So support your local scene and the venues that house it and relive some classic shows to psych yourself up for those that will take place when normality resumes (whenever that may be).
