Reliably informed

Curated by missnickyblack Mind Full Mess by the artist Pointer is a thought-provoking exhibition looking at the digital age and our 24/7 society. It previews on Thursday 12th March (5-9pm) at B&D Studios (3rd Floor Commercial Union House) and so we caught up with the talented artist to find out more.

Who are you?
I am an Artist. I work under my surname of Pointer.

What is it you do?
I make mixed media artworks from a combination of acrylic paint, laser cut wood, perspex and metal.

How long have you been doing it?
I started this new body of work in September and took up a dedicated studio space at B&D Studios at that time to work on it.

What inspires you?
Good music, a blank piece of paper, a place and space to think.

Tell us about your work.
The current show, Mind Full Mess, is about the effect on your mind when you are unable to switch off. It’s a look at modern anxieties caused by our 24/7, always-on culture.

What have you got coming up in the future?
Aside from the current show which opens 12th March and runs through ’til the end of the month. In April I will have some work at the Nowt Special weekend event 24-25th and will take part in the studio open night and group exhibition at B&D Studios for the Late Shows event in May (15-16th).

Where can people find out more about you?
They can follow my Instagram @bypointer or website @bypointer.com. Or come and see the show at B&D Studios
