Reliably informed

The band with members from the North-East and other parts of the UK release their debut single, Tomorrow, a bass-fuelled indie number laced with melancholy and filled with glorious guitar sounds, and so we find out more about them.

Who are you?
We’re Garden Party and we formed at uni in Manchester. We all come from different places in the UK. Liam’s from Wigan, Kieran’s from Darlington, Sams from Leicester and Dieters from Barry.

What is it you do?
We write and perform our own tunes, with a couple of covers thrown in the set. We write music so that we can get out there and gig as much as possible. We love gigging! Our Influences include The Smiths, Sam Fender and The Snuts

How long have you been doing it?
Kieran and Liam first started writing tunes together after meeting in Newcastle in July 2019 but the band have been working together since December 2019 after meeting at uni in Manchester.

What inspires you?
We mostly get inspired by other bands. whether it be musically or successfully, we always look for opportunities to be better. When we’re in the practise room together we always get inspired to write more and more tunes so we can get out there and perform them to our fans!

Tell us about your music.
Our music holds a place for fans of all kinds of indie rock. whether you’re a fan of The 1975 or The Cure. There’ll always be something of ours that you’ll enjoy.

What have you got coming up in the future?
Hopefully we’ve got a few gigs that we can play that were rescheduled. We were due to play to a sold out Gullivers in Manchester Supporting The Family Rain and Wigan Indiependence with King Kartel, Stanleys, Flechettes, Cobain Jones, Dollie Demi and Rivver. we plan to properly celebrate our debut single being released which is out today! and hopefully we can get ourselves a gig booked in Darlington in the near future.
