Monday 27th March
EVENTS Newcastle Puppetry Festival
Across various venues, this is an absolute treat launching today. Check out our full preview here from Nick Wesson, but with the event running until 1st April, there is a lot to be dazzled by.

Tuesday 28th March
FILM Moonlight @ Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
This year’s winner of the Best Picture Oscar, La La Lan….no, Moonlight, it’s Moonlight. This incredibly moving film telling of the tale of a young black man’s struggle to find himself is a drama that all need to see.

Wednesday 29th March
MUSIC Goan Dogs @ Jumpin’ Jacks, Newcastle
Tightly-crafted grooves and heartfelt indie is the perfect way to kick that midweek lull to the kerb, with a show from Goan Dogs at Jumpin’ Jacks.

Thursday 30th March
STAGE Gecko – The Wedding @ Northern Stage, Newcastle
A captivating piece of theatre, filled with physical performances that shape the drama, The Wedding from theatre company Gecko is one of those mesmerising shows you won’t forget.

Friday 31st March
COMEDY Penella Mellor, John Fothergill @ The Exchange, North Shields
With Penella Mellor’s delightfully dark material, and John Fothergill’s acclaimed comedy, there are two stand-ups on show who were just born to do this and they head to North Shields for some top funnies.

Saturday 1st April
COMEDY Jason Cook’s Comedy Club @ Customs House, South Shields & Wylam Brewery, Newcastle
Whichever side of the water you’re on, there are some big laughs to be had thanks to Jason Cook, with circuit favourite Phil Nichol headlining the show in South Shields and the cutting Tom Stade set for Wylam Brewery.

Sunday 2nd April
EVENTS Maker Faire @ Life Science Centre, Newcastle
This actually launches on Saturday, but the weekend event celebrating crafts in a family-friendly festival is an ideal weekend adventure to go be inspired by and to pick up some little gems.
