Monday 13th March
COMEDY Richard Gadd @ The Stand, Newcastle
The winner of last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for best show brings his show to Newcastle. This really is one that you’ll want to make sure you can say you’ve seen, inventive, touching and immensely funny, this is a wonderfully creative mind at the top of his game.

Tuesday 14th March
FILM Brit Rock Film Tour @ Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
Rock climbing is becoming an ever more popular pastime for many, and this is a collection of fascinating and entertaining films that are a celebration of the history of British climbing.

Wednesday 15th March
MUSIC Moon Duo @ Northumbria University, Newcastle
Promoting their new album Occult Architecture Vol. 1, which takes the reliably excellent Moon Duo sound, built around Ripley Johnson’s remarkable, fluid guitar and Sanae Yamada’s Nuggets-meets-Conny Plank keyboards, and adds a little more electronics than usual and also throws in some high concept darkness to boot. Thursday 16th March
STAGE Blood Brothers @ Theatre Royal, Newcastle
The acclaimed play from the pen of Willy Russell, tells the captivating and moving tale of twins who, separated at birth, grow up on opposite sides of the tracks, only to meet again with fateful consequences.

Friday 17th March
EVENTS BBC Radio 3 Free Thinking Festival @ Sage Gateshead
For over a decade, BBC Radio 3’s Free Thinking Festival has been the annual highlight for ponderers nationwide: and, this time, the festival is set take to the grand confines of Gateshead’s Sage. 2017 will see a huge range of leading thinkers and world-class musicians brought together to indulge in debate, discuss new ideas and even perform live, with a dizzying variation of speakers. Saturday 18th March
ART & LIT Rodney Graham – That’s Not Me @ Baltic, Gateshead
There’s some genre defining experimentalism coming to Baltic, with a new exhibition for revered artist Rodney Graham, with the Canadian artist combining works in film and video with an extensive presentation of his photographic images.

Sunday 19th March
FILM Hidden Figures @ ARC, Stockton
The weekend offers up a chance to catch the incredible untold story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson  – three brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history.
