MUSIC Every Time I Die @ Riverside, Newcastle
There won’t be a better way to kick off a week than in the company of these raucous rockers. Their show last year was something legendary, so expect more of the same and tracks from a blisteringly good new album.
Tuesday 20th December
COMEDY George Egg – Anarchist Cook @ Sage Gateshead
A unique comedy show, which sees the inventive funny man create a three course meal using items from a hotel room to cook with, learned from years of staying in odd places. There’s even a chance to sample the food at the end if you’re feeling brave.
Wednesday 21st December
COMEDY Red Raw @ The Stand, Newcastle
We’ve packed more comedy in for Wednesday, as The Stand’s weekly night will bring the laughs needed to get you through a hectic Christmas period, with host Si Beckwith and headliner John Scott.
Thursday 22nd December
FILM Scrooged @ Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
This Bill Murray film is one of the best Christmas films. With big laughs, this modern imagining of A Christmas Carol and is as hilarious as it is heartwarming. Perfect.
Friday 23rd December
MUSIC A Curvy Christmas Parade @ Tyne Bank Brewery, Newcastle
Three bands who’ve had huge years belt out some awesome tracks as the atmospheric A Festival, A Parade are joined by indie popsters The Great Curve and the dreamy Seeing Hands for an awesome show.
Saturday 24th December
EVENTS Orange Pip Market @ Baker Street, Middlesbrough
This artisan food market which takes place on the last Saturday of every month, which for December is Christmas Eve. So it’s a chance to sample authentic street foods in between warming up with some mulled wine to get you well in the Christmas spirit.
Sunday 25th December
IT’S CHRISTMAS! If you’re doing anything other than eating all the food and drinking all the drinks, you’re being daft. Have a smasher from all us here at NARC magazine.
