Stuck for something to do in the next seven days? We aim to have you covered with an event a day for the next week, all across the region. This time around we have short films, exciting theatre, poetry and AV musical loveliness!

Monday 11th April
FILM Short Film Night @ Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
Candle & Bell present a variety of short films from up and coming filmmakers, including work by Cecilia Stenbom, Kristina Yee, Joseph Dethick, Lian Furness and Jennifer Sheridan.

Tuesday 12th April
MUSIC Common Objects @ Oriental Museum, Durham
Six new musical works are created by the Common Objects ensemble, who have each researched and engaged with the collection at the museum to create a new body of work.

Wednesday 13th April
STAGE A Living @ ARC, Stockton
Caroline Liversidge’s solo show looks at how much your time is actually worth – part Rom Com, part lecture, part call to industrial action, A Living is about money, time and what really makes the world go round.

Thursday 14th April
ART & LIT T-Junction Poetry Festival @ Various Venues, Middlesbrough
A whole host of literary wonders are on offer at the second annual T-Junction Poetry Festival, with highlights including readings from poets from around the world including Black Light Engine Room, Bob Beagrie and Andy Willoughby, Jean Binta-Breeze, Karlis Verdins, Joelle Taylor, Tony Harrison, Shazea Quraishi, JK Ihalainen and many more.

Friday 15th April
MUSIC Kingsley Chapman & The Murder, Young Liar & Transfigure @ Northern Stage, Newcastle
Our 10th birthday celebrations continue apace, with this superb AV-themed gig featuring three eclectic acts including post-rock instrumentalists Young Liar, the thrillingly atmospheric Kingsley Chapman & The Murder and old-school synth popsters Transfigure, plus mind-bending visuals from iCoda. Tickets are a mere £8. Bring your party hat!

Saturday 16th April
COMEDY Mark Thomas @ The Witham, Barnard Castle
Trespass carries on from where Mark’s previous show 100 Acts of Minor Dissent left off.  It is his usual odd mix of theatre, stand up, activism, a dash of journalism, activism and dollop of mayhem.

Sunday 17th April
MUSIC Sandra Kerr @ The Waiting Room, Eaglescliffe
British folk legend and the voice of Madeleine the Rag Doll in children’s favourite Bagpuss, Sandra’s appearance at the wonderful Waiting Room will include stories, songs and memories from her career.
