Monday 15th December
ART & LIT SOLO Exhibition: Andy Martin @ Holmeside Coffee, Sunderland
Welcoming nationally renowned photographer Andy Martin to the upstairs room at Holmeside Coffee, the exhibition will run for one night only and will showcase images of Gruff Rhys, Gulp, Paul Smith, Peter and David Brewis among many others in his unusual wet plate style.

Tuesday 16th December
COMEDY Entrenched @ The Cumberland Arms, Newcastle
A one-person clown show that takes place in a surreal nightmare of the First World War trenches. Exploring the silence and horror, humour and confusion of war in a unique comedic exploration.

Wednesday 17th December
FILM In Hinterland @ Star & Shadow Cinema, Newcastle
The premiere of In Hinterland by Luke McCreadie, made in the local village of Allenheads over the summer of 2014. Luke and ten volunteers spent three weeks carrying out a utopian project to see if a group of amateurs are capable of making a narrative feature film against the proper advice of the film industry. The film itself follows the inhabitants of a small village at the end of a very slow and imperceptible apocalypse spanning several lifetimes and going largely unnoticed. Preceded by an evening of films programmed by Luke.

Thursday 18th December
MUSIC Rhodri Davies, Callan, Hen Ogledd, Hapsburg Braganza, Yeah You @ The Old Police House, Gateshead
Celebrating the release of Rhrodri Davies’ new album, An Air Swept Clean Of All Distance and PEDWAR, a four LP boxset released on the alt.vinyl label.

Friday 19th December
MUSIC Deaf Havana, Lonely The Brave, Verses @ The Empire, Middlesbrough
Alt rockers Deaf Havana plan to bring the house down thanks to their melodic rock. With support from Cambridge rockers Lonely The Brave and Brighton rockers Verses.

Saturday 20th December
FILM It’s A Wonderful Life @ Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle
The quintessential Christmas film, James Stewart’s portrayal of a compassionate but frustrated everyman whose life is falling apart is heart-warmingly touching. A tear-jerking, hilarious masterpiece.

Sunday 21st December
MUSIC The Broken Broadcast, Dressed Like Wolves, James Kruman @ The Green Room, Stockton
A superb line-up of top notch local musicians to set you in a festive frame of mind. The Broken Broadcast present their Americana tinged dream pop, with support from lo-fi folkies Dressed Like Wolves and the acoustic wonders of James Kruman.
