Taking place on Saturday 7th July, NARC. Fest will, for its 11th year, take over the Ouseburn Valley with a series of free gigs! We’ve handpicked some excellent local promoters who have curated line-ups which span all genres and styles and we’ll be announcing them all over the coming weeks. For today’s final festival announcement, Kathryn Hodgkinson from Cobalt Studios reveals the line-up for the official after (and during!) party…

In celebration of NARC. Fest and all things brilliant about music in Newcastle, Cobalt are flying Raj Pannu all the way from his new home in Greece to get on the decks alongside two of his oldest musical cohorts, Bert Verso and DaGu. Between the three of them expect varied genres and a journey through banging electronica.

Raj Pannu has enjoyed a long music career, alongside his work as a solo DJ, promoter, audio visual artist and producer, his key collaborations have been with Ninja Tune, Coldcut, Talvin Singh and the BBC.

Bert Verso is a well-respected producer and performer with Grey Tapes, he is equally known for his adventurous and bold cross-genre DJ sets. 2018 is set to be a big year for Verso as he prepares to drop his forthcoming solo EP and much-anticipated Grey Tapes album.

DaGu, a new alias for one of Newcastle’s longest serving and eclectic DJs, will be showcasing a deeper, more industrial jazz-tech sound, spanning underground ghetto styles.

Cobalt is delighted to be a part of this important event in the Newcastle music calendar and also to confirm that they have been granted a 3am close, allowing a good long stint to bend your ears and shake your limbs. In line with our drive to make events free, low cost and accessible this is a free event – all welcome, but come early as it’s first come first served for the biggest party in town.
