Evolution Emerging continues to be one of the region’s must-attend events, and organisers are now looking for bands and solo artists to play this year’s festival.

Taking place across several venues in the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle on Saturday 23rd May, the Generator-run event sees over 40 emerging artists playing alongside special guest headliners and artists unearthed through Generator’s Tipping Point blog, with all manner of styles and genres catered for. Having been nominated for ‘Best Event Tyneside’ award at the 2014 Journal Culture Awards, the success of the festival is a testament to the hard work of the organisers and the consistent quality of past line-ups.

“We’re really proud to be in our seventh year of Evolution Emerging and with our 2014 event selling out it proves that people have an appetite to discover the next big thing.” Says Generator’s Artist Development Manager Bob Allen. “Also, Generator’s ability to programme the best emerging talent in the region and beyond has provided a fantastic platform for new acts to follow in the footsteps of Lulu James, Mausi, Beth Jeans Houghton, The Lake Poets, Nadine Shah, Lisbon, We Are Knuckle Dragger and Boy Jumps Ship. Don’t miss out and apply now!”

Applications are now invited via Generator’s website. The deadline to upload one track is Friday 6th February.

For music fans, this festival really is the best place to spot your new favourite band. We’ll announce further information about the line-up and tickets on the run-up to the event. Put the date in your diary now!
