Oscillate within the fragmented mind of German glitch artist Stefan Betke, otherwise known as Pole, on his latest collection Fading, five years removed from the spritely Wald.

Pole explores a negative space across eight distinct tracks, each feeling like lapses in configured memory (hence the appropriately named title). Every pulse and shimmer adds incredible detail — some harkening back to his previous works — pushing this warm, fuzzy feeling on you in spite of the weightlessness of it all.

Cavernous sounds for the growing insomniac; Pole’s minimalistic approach to electronica is as potent now as it was back in 2008. Fading is as multifaceted as it gets, worthy of multiple repeats — guaranteed to evoke something new and/or tangible with each spin.
