After numerous collaborations with the wondrous Amanda Palmer, Jherek Bischoff’s latest LP is a thing of sheer beauty, packed with epic orchestrations that twist and turn through power, darkness and delicacy. From the bleak and sinister Lemons to the graceful twinkling of the title track, the record is packed with intrigue and an immense amount diversity and variety.

However, it falls to the album’s closing track to truly demonstrate Bischoff’s extensive talents. The Sea’s Son is the perfect swansong, and in spite of its fragile opening it grows into this exquisite composition laden with horns and strings, underpinned by a gentle piano as it provides a rousing crescendo to an otherworldly record by one of the finest modern composers around.
