The boundaries between text and sound will be explored at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead on Monday 27th April, when musician and technologist Shaun Blezard brings his experience of using a mix of digital technology, improvisation and play to the table.

Babble, the brainchild of Breeze Creatives, is a show inspired by artist Tony Swain’s disruptive use of text, featuring two free workshops led by Shaun as he invites people to experiment with translating sound to text and vice versa. The action-packed session will be streamed online as a podcast via Mixcloud and discussed on Twitter through live-blogging.

Joining Tony will be Heather Reid, Lauren Vevers, TURC and Charlie Dearnley, with three performances throughout the evening; two exploring a gradual transition from text to sound, resulting in a third extended performance showcasing an amalgamation of the two mediums.

The chance to take in a fascinating experience and witness an evening of performative exploration is one not to be missed.
